Focus on 'Muse' and Ok Go

Dal world wild web qualche dichiarazione da parte degli artisti conivolti nella colonna sonora di New Moon, questa volta ci soffermiamo sui musi della Twilight Saga, ovvero i MUSE et sugli Ok Go.
Al Natiol Post Mattew Bellamy , frontman dei Muse, ha detto che :
"Beh, mi Ë piaciuto molto ìThe Lost Boysî negli anni ë80. E ricordo che quel film aveva anche una bella colonna sonora. Questo genere di film mi sembra un ëThe Lost Boysí dei nostri giorni. Comunque Ë stata Stephenie Meyer ad avvicinarsi alla band qualche anno prima che il film nascesse, quando lei sapeva solo che si sarebbe fatto. Eí venuta ad un concerto a Phoenix, in Arizona ñ credo viva lÏ, o comunque nella vicinanze. Eí stata molto amichevole, ci ha detto che apprezzava la nostra musica e che le sarebbe piaciuto utilizzarla per i film. Qualche anno dopo il produttore Ë venuto da noi, e abbiamo detto ìcertoî. Non avrei mai pensato [che il primo film] sarebbe diventato il film che Ë, pensavo si trattasse di un film di nicchia."

Mentre gil Ok Go, o meglio il frontman Damon ha rilasciato una lunga et interessantissima intervista per Buzznet , che potete leggere interamente , riguardo alla loro 'Shotting The Moon'. Di seguito i punti + interessanti dell'intervista :

DAMON : La canzone parla di un astronauta coinvolto in una cospirazione. Mi riferisco allo sbarco sulla luna: e se fosse tutto una grande bufala? Uno degli uomini pi˘ eroici del mondo dovrebbe vivere in un silenzioso senso di colpa, dovrebbe tener nascosto il fatto che líallunaggio in realt‡ non Ë mai avvenuto, che la luna non Ë mai stata ëconquistataí. La canzone trasmette paura ma anche convinzione, in un certo senso ñ la convinzione di dire che tutto Ë ok anche quando si vorrebbe dire il contrario. Eí una sensazione che provo spesso. Il povero astronauta sa che líunica via díuscita Ë rivelare la nuda verit‡, ma se che spezzerebbe milioni di cuori, facendolo.î I: La canzone Ë stata scritta per New Moon, o Ë stata scelta per puro caso durante la produzione del nuovo album?
D : Líabbiamo composta per il nuovo album, ma sembra incastrarsi perfettamente con il film. E siccome avevamo gi‡ molto materiale, non cíË stato niente di male a cederla ad un ëpascolo pi˘ verdeí. Nessun eufemismo. La canzone si trover‡ meglio lÏ che nella sua casa originaria ñ líalbum. I : Se dovessi scegliere una vostra canzone per rappresentere il rapporto tra Edward e Bella, quale scegliereste? D : Beh, dipende dai casi. Sono entrambi dei personaggi che si prendono sul serio, quindi magari una canzone díamore super onesta farebbe al caso loro. Last Leaf, del nostro ultimo lavoro, parla di un uomo che promette alla sua amata di aspettarla per sempre. Molto Edwardiana. Per i momentiÖ arrapati, invece, direi I Want You So Bad I Canít Breathe. Bingo di nuovo, i vampiri non respirano! O si?? Infine cíË un pezzo molto sexy intitolato Skycrapers, ma la mia definizione di sexy Ë differente dai canoni della maggior parte delle personeÖ la definirei afrodisiaca.'

From the World Wild Web a few statements by the artists of the New Moon Soundtrack, and this time we focus on MUSE and OK Go.

At the question of the 'National Post' You have a song on the new Twilight film. Are you a fan?' Matthew Bellamy, frontman of Muse, said :
'Well, I liked The Lost Boys in the '80s. I remember that one had a pretty good soundtrack as well. This sort of film struck me as this generations version of The Lost Boys. It was actually Stephenie Meyer who approached the band quite a few years before the film was name, just as :she was becoming known. She came to a concert in Phoenix, in Arizona - I think that's where she lived, or she lived nearby. She was very friendly, and she told us that she liked the music and that she'd like to use the music in the films. It was a few years later that the filmmakers came to us, and we said sure. I had no idea [the first film] was going to be a film as it was, I thought is was going to be an indie film.'

While the'Ok Go', or better frontman Damian has released a long and interesting interview on Buzznet regardless of their 'Shotting The Moon'. Following the more interesting points of the interview :

Buzznet: What is the inspiration behind "Shooting The Moon" on the New Moon soundtrack?
Damian: The song is about an astronaut involved in a conspiracy. I am not personally a doubter re: the US moon landing, but the story fascinates me. The story, that is, that would be, were the conspiracy theory true. One of the most iconic heros of all time would have to live with the guilt. He'd have to keep such a heavy, terrible secret: that this huge historical watershed was a cynical lie. As the basis of a song, it let me get at a feeling that I otherwise have a hard time describing, the feeling of dread and conviction at the same time. Of wanting to say it's going to be OK, when in fact it probably isn't. It's a feeling I have a lot. The hero knows the only way to make things better in the long run is to unleash this awful truth which is going to break everyone's heart.
Bnet: Did you create this song with the intention of having it on the New Moon soundtrack? Was "Shooting The Moon" recorded at the same time that you recorded your songs on your upcoming album?
D: It was recorded along with the songs on our new album, but it was a perfect fit for New Moon. Our record's already nearly an hour long, so we could afford it let this one go on to greener pastures. Which is no euphemism. The song is in such great company on this soundtrack that it's probably happier in its new home.
