Jackson in questa simpatica intervista parla del suo personaggio e finalmente in New Moon viene rivelata in modo esplicito, non per bocca di edward, la sua abilità di controllare le emozioni, molto divertente quando si concentra e dice ORA SEI ARRABBIATO ahaahahaha. Rivela che avremo qualche scena in cui ci accorgeremo che il clima emozionale è come dire controllato dal suo potere.

Inoltre durante Eclipse vedremo anche come la mentalità di Jasper, durante la scena degli allenamenti sia prettamente una mentalità votata alla battaglia, quando allena Emmet, il vampiro con doti fisiche maggiori è convinto di poter battere il fratello solo con la forza ma Jasper è un calcolatore quindi riesce a batterlo solo premeditando le mosse del fratello e questo secondo Rathbone è affascinante.

Vedremo anche in Eclipse la scena in cui Jasper viene morso da Maria...secondo Jackson, che ha studiato il periodo in cui il suo personaggio ha vissuto da umano, quello della uerra civile è stato un momento storico pieno di caos..tutto era incentrato sulla guerra.

Era interessante mostrare la vita di Jasper da umano e soprattutto la sua vita oscura e intensa non appena viene trasformato in vampiro. Verremo a conoscenza della sua reazione alla trasformazione, ma poi vedremo il suo amore per Alice che lo porta verso la redenzione.

MTV: And is that the first time we’ll see your powers?

Rathbone: Actually, in “New Moon,” we get a little glimpse. Inside the school.

MTV: How was it to film scenes where you were influencing the emotions of those around you?

Rathbone: It was fun. I just played it very naturally, like, if you have these special powers — like Edward has the ability to read minds — it’s not like he’s going to [get overly dramatic] and go, “You’re hungry!” No, it’s a natural thing, like the human ability to smell or to hear is a natural ability. To affect the mental state of anyone around you [I depicted Jasper as] keeping it all right in the eyes.
